CHENNAI: The union health ministry has lifted a ban, imposed in May on the manufacture, sale and distribution of drugs made from human placenta, following a Delhi high court order. The makers of Placentrex, used to treat pelvic infections in women and heal open wounds, including burn injuries, said there were no safer or efficient alternatives to their product.
